Look up and describe a predator that you think has a cool style of hunting.

  1. I think the North American short tailed shrew has a cool hunting style. They look really innocent and cute, but they have a brutal technique. They first paralyze their prey. However they don't paralyze it to kill it. They paralyze it so they can keep it alive longer while they slowly snack on the prey from time to time. The prey will eventually die due to the injuries the shrew gave it while eating it.

  2. I like the shark. The way they get seals like in jaws.

  3. The thresher shark has a very distinct way of hunting. They have an elongated fin that they use like a whip to kill their prey. That can kill up to 7 fish at a time. It only takes the thresher shark a matter of seconds.

  4. I like the way the African Wild Dogs hunt. They chase their prey at speeds up to thirty miles and hour for up to three miles. Their normal hunted prey try to out run the dogs by making sharp turns and these African Wild Dogs have trouble making sharp turns and they are prepared for these and have others waiting for the prey in the grass where the prey is heading towards.
They are quite clever and coordinated.

  5. The wolf pack pack seems pretty cool. They all go together to hunt then, they find either the oldest, sickest, youngest or just the one who's the slowest in the prey group. Once they pick one they chase it down until tired or until the wolves catch up. Then they go for the neck for the kill.

  6. I like the Rattlesnake hunting style. It moves very slowly so its prey does not hear it or see it. The Rattlesnake has very good camouflage. It can move with the ground and trees so no one can see it.

  7. Considering the fact that Paige and I found a video focusing on the hunting techniques of a Platypus, I've decided to explain it's specific hunting strategies. A Platypus, while hunting, closes it's eyes and ears. Therefore it strictly relies on the nose to locate food sources. Its rather fascinating.

  8. I like how the octopus hunts. It camouflages onto a rock then wraps its tentacles around the rock and gets its food then leaves and eats it.

  9. I like the hunting strategies of a Lion because the females do the hunting. Lions are extremely smart when it comes to stocking there pray. The females practically surround there pray giving each lion a task. One will chase the pray towards a trap where more lionesses are waiting to come in for the kill. Sadly the females don't get to eat there kill because even though they are the ones who made the kill, males get to eat first devouring the meal and only giving the females some of their own prize.

  10. I like the way that lionesses hunt. they strategize by having two lioness flank them, and then another searches for the "weakest link" in a hers. they then have two "strikers" attack.

  11. I like the secretarybird. They hunt on foot rather than in the air, and in flocks or pairs. They wait near fires for animals trying to escape. They hit small animals with their beaks and swallow them whole. Or, when it comes to larger animals like gazelle, it hops up and stomps, delivers bone-breaking kicks, and scratches until it is dead.

  12. My favorite hunting style is the cheetah, because they have tremendous speed, and when they're running close to their pray, they just tackle them.

  13. I like the comodo dragon. Most are solitary hunters but when they are hunting for big prey they work together. Although they have really strong jaws they rearely use it to kill. They give one good bite to their prey and wait for it t die.

  14. I think that the way eagles hunt are cool because they have really good eye sight and have sharp talons that catch slippery fish and small or big prey.

  16. They have been observed to have several hunting styles that include: fast hunting (running through and over vegetation, flushing out prey), slow hunting (slow, stalking movements- which indicates they are low to the ground in an almost serpentine motion), and finally "sit and wait" hunting (motionless vigilance at a rodent burrow waiting for an animal to come out of their den).

  17. I like the way orcas, the killer whales, hunt for there food. They team up to catch their found. Each pod has different sounds that they can hear from far way. Some pods surround fish. Or when there's seals on icebergs they make waves with their tales. This large wave then knocks the seal off the ice and into the sea where the killer whales can grab the seal.

  18. I really like the way that octopi hunt. The way that they change colors and blend into their surroundings and just wait for the perfect moment to catch their prey.

  19. I pick Snow Leopard because they have amazing agility and are very fast. They can also run and jump over rocks while hunting

  20. I prefer the hunting strategies of the Gray wolf, or as most people may know it as, the timber wolf. The way these dogs hunt in packs and with efficient teamwork strategies ensures that they'll be confident enough to take down larger prey, such a buffalo, wildebeast, etc. That said, it doesn't mean they always get their prey.

  21. In my opinion most wolf packs are very good at their predator style. They will run for miles on end hunting for prey. And when they find a target they work with each other to take down the prey

  22. I like the wolf pack; they usually do most of their searching at night, relying on scent, tracks, and chance of occurrence; then, the pack splits up to pursue their prey. -Greg Pinkston per 1

  23. My favorite is the trap door spider because they don't ever have to leave their hole. Another thing I like is they are very patient when it comes to hunting. They also have a way to hide in case of predators.

  24. While searching for any random animal hunting skills to answer this question with, I came upon the predator tactics of a chimpanzee. Apparently in the wild, while hunting monkeys to eat, they tear the poor guys to shreds, and then continue on to eating them. So I mean that's sad, but it's pretty cool too.

  25. The Golden Eagle has a very interesting hunting style. It picks out it's prey and it then dive bombs it and snaps the preys neck. Or sometimes if the prey is small enough then the eagle just carries it away.

  26. I personally like the way the great white shark hunts.why?Because it attacks its prey form underneath so its an unexpected attack. Not only that it has senses to detect they prey from miles away so no telling if your under attack or not.-Renaye

  27. I like the way I hunt because I hunt a lot of different things a lot of different ways. my favorite thing of hunting is pheasant because on order to do that well you need to train a dog for hunting and then we use the dog as a adorable tool to flush the pheasants from there hiding places so we can try to get a shot at them.

  30. A predator i've always taken a liking to is the cougar. I live in a neighborhood where running into a cougar is not uncommon. I personally have seen cougars in my front yard 6 or 7 times. I have also been stalked by a cougar bowhunting in north eastern oregon in the john day wilderness. As an avid hunter I respect the animal.

  33. In some places large freshwater cat fish catch and eat pigeons off the shore.
they temporarily go on to land, not fully leaving the water , then snatch up the pigeon.

  34. I personally like the golden eagle. I like the fact that golden eagles can spot prey from so far away and swoop in and take it. They also have a big carrying capacity allowing them to pick up huge mammals.

  35. i would think the golden eagle because of the power that they have to be able to pick up and throw goats off cliffs and carry them off is amazing

  36. I would think the white Siberian tiger because it's fast no only that but it testay up it's prey very messy but they way they hunt is hide out holding very still till it knows it's gonna get what it wants they move very slowly getting closer and closer than it attacks
