The four main types of thinking are Analytical, Creative, Reflective and Logical. The goal is that one learns to bring these together to become Critical Thinkers. For this post tell me what you think your strongest and weakest thinking areas are and why.

  2. Being a lifeguard I an quite good at Logical and Analytical thinking. If you don't have these decision making skills you would propbaly not be able to same someone. Also I like using Creative and Critical thinking. Being creative is one of my specialties. I like doing things different and hate doing things that have no point to do. I'm not so well in Reflective because I never use it. Benji Belsky Per:2

  3. As a student I would say I'am a Analytical thinker. Every day for around eight hours I have to use this power of thinking to solve problems at school. In math I use it to solve problems, and in English to write essays. I would say the thinking skill I lack is logical thinking, like a lot of high school boys I just act before any type of thinking is done. I also really like creative thinking because not everything has to be completely logical.

  4. In math, I am an analytical thinker and break problems down into constituent parts in order to solve smaller parts of the problem in steps to find the overall solution. In English, I am a creative thinker and look at situations from a fresh perspective in order to understand it in my own way. I’m not very skilled in giving explanations and finding solutions to problems by reflective thinking because assessing what I know, what I need to know, and how to bridge the gap is difficult for me in learning situations. I use logical thinking in almost any situation. I weigh the pros and cons of the subject at hand and once I come to some sort of precise understanding, I can formulate a logical solution to the problem. So, I would say my weakest thinking area would be reflective thinking and my strongest is logical thinking.

  5. My strongest areas out of these four would definitely be reflective. When I am given a task problem or just a subject I tend to consider all angles possible. I like looking at different point of views. I am very good at creative because i like thinking outside the box. I am not as good at analytic because i don't like diving deeper than necessary, and I don't like to waste time. While I can use common sense, I don't like logical thinking simply because I'm an idealist rather than a realist. I tend to have faith in things that people normally don't. Therefore, i would say my strongest thinking area would be Reflective, and my weakest would be Logical.

  6. Creative thinking has always proven to be a human advantage through history. It fueled the human skill of ingenuity, and the act of inventing to propel us in evolution, however, from personal opinion, logical thinking is still good
However, I believe it is at the weakest point in thinking. I believe it prohibits people from trying new things and attempting to disprove old theories of logic.

  7. I am strongest in creative thinking, i love to make things, manly out of cardboard and duck-tape. Another creative aspect of my thinking involves my childhood, growing up i would always be making up games to play using the most random items i could find. The area of thinking i would consider to be my weakest would be analytic, because i like to get things done and not dwell on things. a particular example of this is when i have to analyze poetry of English. I would much rather prefer to just read the poem and be done with it.

  8. I would like to say i think more logically, but for most girls that isn't quite true. Speaking for myself at least,I always think about what is more realistic and logical but i never seem to apply it to life situations, So in my case i would say that even though i look at all the evidence, thinking logically doesn't help me, and i would say the same about critical thinking. Thinking creatively always gets people out of their shell. I think it is one of the most important types of thinking.

  9. Out of these four types of thinking, I would probably say that my strongest are Creative and Reflective. I think those two are my strongest because, I like to find different ways to do things and I also like to go off of things I have already learned. So that being said my weakest areas of thinking would be Analytical and Logical, because I don't necessarily like to approach things straight on, or in ways that have done before.

  10. One of my strongest areas of thinking is being a logical thinker. Most of the time whenever I am faced with a situation where I would have to make a decision, I look at what the consequences, good or bad, that I may face with the decision I may make. I also am a very critical thinker. A lot of time whenever I make a decision, I look at what I am trying to achieve and if my decision will help me get to my achievement. Sometimes I am a very poor creative thinker. A lot of the time when I make decisions I find one thought that I want to go with instead of looking for other options that may be better.

  11. The time I spend thinking is about eighty percent reflective. I'm not a calculating or analytical person, so analyzing data and situations is not my aim, nor my strength. I do not create physical things, like models or art, but I'm very good with creating stories and music and nonmaterialistic entities. I can be quite logical, but not as much so as reflective. I'm all about that philosophy.

  12. Creative thinking comes most naturally to me. I like to approach problems from any and all angles. I am absolutely terrible at reflective thinking. Taking time to review what has already been done and what needs to be done next makes me anxious. I'm more productive if I plan as the steps are happening.

  13. When it came down to deciding what my strongest type of thinking is, I became perplexed whether it was creative or reflective thinking. Although I am an artist and have a creative mind I think I am a more reflective thinker. When I have a large goal that I just need to obtain I will start doing all these smaller things that add up to getting my project done. All the time I think back to all the many things I've learned throughout my life and used it to make my learning process now even better. My weakest type of thinking would have to be Analytic. I cannot just analyze a situation and find a quick solution. I have to recall past experience to help me instead of going out and finding information on the subject because I'm not going to really get that interested in one thing. Analytic thinking is too uninteresting and plain to be how I think.

  14. My best type of thinking is analytical thinking. I mostly use it in math because it helps me solve problems better, I break it down in my head to figure out what parts make the problem especially story problems. I'm alright at logical thinking, I can figure out things with common sense. My worst is reflective, creative, and critical thinking because I've never applied them to my life, so I never thought about them because it's not natural to me.

  15. I go through my day I wonder why everything is happening. In math, I tend to be worse at word problems because I try to analyze what every part means, when in reality it's more simple then I anticipated. My weaker thinking process is logical thinking. I don't do as well with the reasoning process. Mainly because I feel like it just takes way to long! Most of the time I over reason anyways. That is why I am a critical and reflective thinker and not a logical thinker. Shayla Period 3

  16. I would consider myself as a creative thinker. Why I believe that I would be a creative this is because I always try to find new ways of doing task, specially when I come to livestock. I'm always trying to find new ways and I seem to improve. I also would consider analytical thinking to applys with being who I am because, I always have in mind if I do something this way then this will be my outcome. My weakest would be logical thinker, specially when it comes to school and everyday thinking.

  17. Being as I am, I would consider myself to be a logical thinker. I always look for reasons instead of leaving an open mind to what something is. My weaker spot is definitely creative thinking. My ideas never seem to fully be original, but seem creative none the less. I would say that these two seem to lay on opposite ends of the spectrum with many people, this observation being as from what I have read from other students whether they are the same or opposite of me.

  18. It took a bit of self-analysis to find an answer to this question. In the end, I would have to call myself an analytical thinker. I have to process every little detail and plan exactly what I am going to do or say. I suppose that means I'm also leaning towards reflective and logical thinking. As much as I would like to be able to call myself a creative thinker, that's just not what my past experiences say. I'm not about the whole "I do what I want life"; though, I wish I was.

  19. I think my strongest form of thinking is creative and my weakest is analytical. My strongest is creative because I always try to find a diverse way of doing things. I think my weakest is analytical because I don't really like fully thinking things threw. I like the adventure in life and the risk of never knowing how things will end up so I just go with the flow.

  20. I use all these types of thinking regularly, but I think my strength lies in logical and creative. I use logical thinking to determine what to do in certain situations, and if I'm working on a project to decide if the fastest way is the best way. I also use it to choose which type of thinking to use. I use creative thinking to make the things I do new, innovative, and hopefully unique. My weakest type of thinking would most likely be analytical because I use it sometimes, but not as much as I should. I use Reflective thinking more to guide my future decisions.

  21. I would say I'm more of a logical thinker. I don't consider myself as a creative thinker, I always tend to be more realistic when making a decision. I consider all aspects, important facts and always think about what the outcome and consequences of what the decision might bring. In math, however, I'm more of an analytic thinker, I try to break down the problem, especially word problems, that way they're easier to solve.

  22. I personally believe that I am a realistic thinker because I always think about what could go wrong, and what could go right; I always acknowledge both possibilities, but I always expect things to not go according to plan that way I can be prepared to the best of my ability. I can certainly be logical at times but I believe that logic often times can be different from person to person therfore I do not strongly rely on logic alone, but in conjuntion with other types of thinking when nothing else seems to be correct. When I use realistic thinking I always use analytical thinking as well by weighing out the possible out comes to the problem. I am not at all a creative thinker I believe this is greatly due to the fact that my strongest type of thinking is realistic thinking.

  23. I would say my way of thinking is more on the creative side. I don't like to over analyze things because I feel like over thinking something is not good in all cases. I do however think things logically and I don't put any fake ideas in my mind. It is important though to think in all four ways because it helps you become a better thinker, and it helps the world stay in balance if we think in all four ways.

  24. I think my strongest way of thinking is logical thinking. When I'm trying to solve a problem of any sort I look at the facts rather then other ways it could be solved. My weakest type of thinking is creative thinking because I don't usually come up with complex ways to solve something and just stick to what I already know.

  25. "Noun: analytic thinking - the abstract separation of a whole into its constituent parts in order to study the parts and their relations."
In my opinion, I am more of an analytical thinker; with logic following close behind. When my brain perceives information, I break down that information and analyze the different sectors thus created. Then I assemble it all back together like a jigsaw puzzle, reviewing the information as a whole. When people ask me a question, it may appear as though I am slow to respond; when in actuality, I am disassembling the question and determining the best response, possible consequences, logistics, and any complications their question or my answer may present.
I wouldn't say in any way that I am a reflective thinker. My motto is, "It's better to ask forgiveness than permission." I know it is so cliché, however, it seems to work with my theories. I tend to preform an action and not look back on the actual decision-making process; rather face the consequences with my tail tucked or my head held high. Being a reflective thinker is something I am going to strive to perfect; that way I will be able to be a complete critical thinker. For me personally, looking into the future as an analytical thinker seems much easier, yet much more challenging, than looking back on what is in rest in the past. The way I put it, "It's better to focus on what I can do to change the future, than wonder what I could have done to live in the past."

  26. I think my strongest way of thinking is probably creative thinking. I do a lot without really evaluating or overthinking, altough, every once in a while, I think too much. I like finding new solutions to problems that hasn't been thought of too much and coming up with my own way to get what I want in the end. These things I should often think through more to not get overwhelmed after a time by everything it brings with it.

  27. I believe my strongest thinking is logical thinking. I'm always reminding myself of the things that could go wrong. I also like facts that help me know I'm right. My weakest thinking would be creative thinking. I feel like I really struggle with being creative and developing new ideas.

  28. I would have to say that my strongest area of thinking is logical thought. Like a more logical thinker, I tend break down a task into steps and make constant lists of tasks that must be completed in a specific order. This habit just comes from having a constantly busy schedule and needing to be able to manage time and get things accomplished. My weakest area of thinking would be creative thought. I tend to be a conformist and just feel like most things should be done in the ways that have been proven to work.

  30. I am definitely a reflexive thinker. I don't like to spend time stressing over all the little details, and I only want to look at the big picture. It's too much work to make sure that every little detail is perfect. My weakest area of thinking is analytical. I don't like to plan or look at things step by step. I'd like to get things done in one big step.

  31. I am definitely a logical thinker. I have to have all my facts and ideas straight before I will act on something. I like to make lists, and I always double check them. I SUCK at creative thinking. I have trouble thinking outside the box and coming up with new exciting ideas. I like to stick to my facts and reason.

I struggle thinking analytically and have a hard time in math because of it.

  33. My strongest type of learning is logical because I seem to be able to understand a person speaking logically about something and my weakest learning type would have to be analytical because anyone speaking using really big words I can't seem to understand them at all. Allen garner per.3
